Here's a complete local guide to going solar in Exmouth. ### Why Exmouth is ideal for solar PV Exmouth sits at the mouth of the River Exe at the start of the Jurassic Coast — one of the sunniest stretches of mainland Britain. The town regularly records more than 1,650 hours of sunshine a year, and properties on the south-facing slopes between the seafront and Withycombe Raleigh enjoy near-perfect solar conditions. Even on cloudy days, modern solar panels generate useful electricity from diffuse light. The town's housing stock is also well suited. Much of Exmouth's residential area was developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with detached and semi-detached villas across The Avenues, Phear Park, Littleham and Brixington featuring generous, simple roof slopes.
